Denison College has partnered with Charles Sturt University to offer senior students the opportunity to engage in meaningful media production.
Lecturers from Charles Sturt’s School of Communication and Information Studies collaborated with twenty senior high school students to create a youth-driven podcast series, broadcast via 2MCE. Supported by a Sustainability at Charles Sturt project grant and guided by Bachelor of Communication lecturers, these original episodes explore youth perspectives on various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Workshops were held at Denison College’s Kelso and Bathurst campuses, led by academics Zoe Rodwell and Dr. Travis Holland. These sessions encouraged students to explore themes of identity, community, and education in relation to the SDGs. In November 2024, students gathered at the Charles Sturt Communication Precinct in Bathurst for a full day of scripting and recording.
During the production process, Denison students collaborated with Charles Sturt lecturers, current communication students, and visiting industry professionals who contributed insights as podcast guests.
