International Women’s Day 2025

5 March, 2025

Conversations for a Brave New World is produced by the Gender Network (Feminist, Gender and Queer Studies) at CSU. We bring global, national and local issues about gender to the Central West. Each month, we share knowledge, scholarship and research about gender from the diverse perspectives of experts and scholars.

It is March once again and this is our yearly International Women’s Day show. To talk about Marching Forward and making progress in rural areas in Australia Donna is joined by two experts in the area of violence against women. Please welcome back to the show Paula Cahill (Generalist Counsellor at the Central West Women’s Health Centre in Bathurst) and Dr Rachel Hogg (senior lecturer in Psychology at Charles Sturt University). Our show this month tackles big issues about wider context and sociopolitical issues as they impact on gender and rurality.

Trigger Warning: This show will cover sensitive and potentially distressing topics, including gendered violence. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or triggered, please prioritize your well-being and step out or take a break.
