The featured album was LAST NIGHT’S JOY by GERRY O’CONNOR www.gerryoconnor.net (Lughnasa Music). A ‘solo’ album, with assistance provided by O’Connor’s son, Donal, as well as several top Irish music players including Seamie O’Dowd, Niall Hanna, Neil Martin, Mairtin O’Connor and Sean Og Graham. The material ranges from traditional Irish, through a set of Cape Breton reels, a Swedish polska and a lively set featuring the “eponymous musical friend”, Gerry (“Banjo”) O’Connor.
