The featured album was STRATHSPEY QUEENS ll by ALICE ALLAN & PATSY REID (Ardgowan Records) This excellent Scottish cello and fiddle duo have previously recorded an album ‘informed by’ music from J. Scott Skinner. This time they go back a further hundred years to the music of William Marshall and beautifully combine his fiddle melody lines with solid accompanying cello.
