The featured album was ENGLISH SKETCHES by HILARY JAMES    www.folksong.co.uk  (Acoustics).  An enjoyable album from a very versatile singer, songwriter and instrumentalist with a pleasingly clear and captivating voice. The project is subtitled “A celebration of English landscape, weather and seasons through traditional song and new settings of poems” and the material’s non-trad sources range from Shakespeare, Thomas Hardy and ‘The Beggar’s Opera’ to A E Housman and Sabine Baring-Gould.
