The featured album was CREOLE SOUNDS FROM THE INDIAN OCEAN by SAKILI (ARC). An intriguing, vibrant and engaging album of Séga style Creole songs from Rodrigues, a 108 square kilometre (42 sq mi) autonomous outer island in the Republic of Mauritius. The island has a fascinating history and this trio’s music is captivating, with instrumentation based around the sound of the frame drum, the accordion and the kabosy.
