Empress Dowager Cixi

This week, we take Feministory to Imperial China for the first time where we met Empress Dowager Cixi. Cixi was a Chinese noblewoman, concubine and regent who effectively controlled the Chinese government in the late Qing dynasty for 47 years. She ruled her country with intelligence, strength, and ruthlessness.
