This month SICS Radio explores a concept that sounds like a contradiction in terms: serious leisure. We hear from three academics who are experts in this field: Dr Jenna Hartel (University of Toronto), Dr Lyn Robinson (City, University of London) and Dr Yazdan Mansourian (Charles Sturt University). They explain what we mean by the term serious leisure, discuss the relationship between serious leisure and information, and consider how libraries and other organisations can support and take advantage of the serious leisure enthusiast in their communities.
