Open Science: What it is and why it matters

SICS Radio October 28, 2021

This month SICS Radio celebrates #OpenAccess Week. Open Access refers to the movement to ensure that the outputs of scholarly research – the books and articles produced by researchers to report the results of their studies – are available to anyone who want to read them, and not hidden behind paywalls. But Open Access is only one part of a broader movement – Open Science. In this show we are joined by three experts – Jason Chin (@University of Sydney), Justine Lacey (CSIRO) and Matthew Ling (Deakin University) – who explain what Open Science is, and why it’s important for academia and society.
