The Nationals are committed to the continuation of upgrades to the Bathurst sporting facilities, Paul Toole has declared.
The upgrades to major sporting grounds in the Bathurst region are a key strategy from the National party to help keep Bathurst on the sporting map and provide the best facilities in the Central West.
The upgrades throughout the area include enhancements to George Park, Proctor Park, Bathurst Netball courts and Anne Ashwood Park, as well as other local grounds.
These upgrades include enhancements to the surface of playing fields, refurbishments to clubhouses and change rooms as well as key improvements to grandstands and seating.
Sporting teams in Bathurst will benefit from the improvements to their respective sporting precincts, as teams will have priority usage of the playing fields.
As well as sporting teams, carnivals and competitors around the state will benefit from the first class facilities that the city of Bathurst has to offer.
Toole has confirmed that the upgrades to local sporting parks will help bring both regional and state carnivals to Bathurst, providing a significant economic boost to the local area.
The upgrades to Bathurst’s sporting facilities are strongly pushed by the Nationals, despite growing pressure from the Labor party to focus the funding on hospitals and schools.
Toole however, believes that sporting grounds are the backbone of local communities and the funding from the Nationals will help attract events to Bathurst.
